Siemens seal-less compressor completes test program for future subsea processing

siemensstc_eco_zeichnung-large STC-ECO - the Siemens seal-less compressor unit for dirty-gas and subsea applications -has successfully completed its factory test program. Following a highly comprehensive program aimed at qualifying the unit for subsea gas compression, the machine will now undergo a further extended test program. Completion of the factory acceptance tests is a major milestone in the system qualification program and for marinization of the equipment, which will be an important cornerstone for subsea processing at a water depth of 3,000 meters in the future.

Norway’s successful oil and gas policy

ledergruppen-kjell Norway's offshore oil achievements have hinged largely on sound and visionary management decisions. Much of the credit for crafting a successful oil and gas policy has to go to Petoro, the licensee for the Norwegian state's direct financial interest in the country's petroleum operations. The portfolio managed by Petoro is the largest on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS), embracing 90 production licenses and 18 partnerships/companies.

GE To Supply Wellhead Sensors for Goliat

main-ptx400-transducer GE's Sensing business has won an order to provide over 130 subsea wellhead sensors for installation in the Goliat field, which is located within the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea. The order has been placed by Aker Solutions, who were awarded the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract in 2009 by the field licensee and operator Eni Norge AS. The sensors will be delivered over the next two years and production from the field is expected in 2013.
