Thialf en Scarabeo 6 naar Keppel Verolme

Het grootste kraanschip ter wereld, de Thialf van Heerema Marine Contractors, ligt momenteel in mammoetdok 7 van Keppel Verolme voor een uitgebreid levensduurverlengend programma dat in totaal 90 dagen in beslag zal nemen. De Thialf is eind december aan de tros van de zeesleper Taurus aan de werf in de Botlek aangekomen.

European Union approves ban on Iranian oil imports

The European Union (EU) has approved a gradual ban on all future contracts to import Iranian oil as part of an international effort to put pressure on Iran's controversial nuclear programme. The EU, which buys approximately 20% of Iranian oil exports, will stop signing new contracts with Iran, with all existing contracts to be phased out by 1 July 2012.

McDermott secures $2bn subsea contract for Ichthys field development

McDermott has won a $2bn subsea contract from Japan-based Inpex for the Ichthys gas-condensate field development in Australia. The company will work on the subsea umbilical, riser and flowline, and provide engineering, procurement, construction, installation and pre-commissioning services. The pre-commissioning work includes production flowline systems, a MEG injection system, start-up condensate transfer and fuel gas transfer flowline systems, control systems and other associated elements in water depths of up to 275m.

TWEE INNOVATIEVE ROV’S VOOR JAN DE NUL

Seatools in Numansdorp bouwt momenteel twee fallpipe ROV's (voor het storten van stenen) met een dynamisch positioneringsysteem. Hierbij worden de te storten trajecten uiterst nauwkeurig voorgeprogrammeerd, waarna de ROV het opgegeven patroon minutieus volgt.

NAM boort extra put vanaf bestaande locatie ten Noorden van Assen

De NAM wint al enige tijd aardgas vanaf de gaswinningslocatie aan het Kleuvenveld te Taarlo. Om een nieuw deel van het bestaande veld aan te boren, zal de NAM in de komende maanden een boring uitvoeren. Deze boring duurt circa twee maanden.
