Op 22 april 2013 heeft IHC Merwede de backhoe dredger Alberto Alemán Zubieta opgeleverd aan Autoridad del Canal de Panama (ACP) in Panama-Stad. De formele afhandeling werd gedaan door mevrouw Regina Donelson, Contracting Officer bij ACP, na een succesvolle proefvaart van 30 aaneengesloten dagen op het Panamakanaal.

Offshore Wenduine completed her first deployment

Offshore Wenduine (OW3) has been converted into a multi-purpose Catamaran Work Boat and been finalized end of April by shipyard Den Breejen under the supervision of Workships Contractors B.V. Her first job was to assist in the testing of the Amplemann L-type access system. Also, the manoeuvrability of the ship in the area of the landing point was successfully assessed.

NAM produceert extra gas uit K8-blok

De NAM heeft een tot nu toe onbenut deel van een bestaand gasveld in het K8-blok in de Nederlandse sector van de Noordzee in productie gebracht. Voor het boren van de productieput is de Swift 10 van Swift Drilling ingezet. NAM wint al vanaf eind jaren zeventig gas uit het K8-blok, op zo’n 100 kilometer ten noordwesten van Den Helder.

Damen starts building 14 terminal tugs for Kuwait Oil Company

A symbolic keel-laying ceremony on the 17th of April 2013 in Gorinchem, officially launched the construction phase of 14 Damen ASD Tugs for Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). The series consist of two types, being 9 tugs of Damen’s recently launched 3212 model and 5 units of the well-known 2810 design, with 80 and 50 tons of bollard pull respectively.
